Hello chaps, was really pleased with your discussion on Saturday. Very interesting (despite a few fights between Inês and Nuno ;) You're all really brainy and knowledgable about science stuff, much more than me!

OK here's the homework for anyone who missed: Select a scientist to research. Select one of their achievements and make sure you can explain it in simple terms. Look at the circumstances which allowed or provided the background for their development as a thinker. Finally consider their social and family relationships and any apocryphal stories. Does this person fit the stereotype of the nutty professor, antisocial or nerd?
